MOUNTAIN BROOK FINE ARTS DEPARTMENT

The Fine Arts Department of Mountain Brook High School includes the areas of art, music, and theatre.  A Fine Arts Education is fundamental to every student and provides all students the opportunity to grow aesthetically; to develop and expand a critical awareness of their cultural heritage; and to acquire the skills needed to distinguish the fine from the mundane through their experiences in the arts.  The intent is to help students increase their perception and awareness of their environment, to encourage an imaginative and creative approach to problem solving and communication, and to develop self-discipline and confidence.  The courses offered by the Fine Arts Department are designed to instill a lifelong involvement in and appreciation with support of the arts through challenging, effective and engaging experiences to achieve higher levels of performance.
