Course Selection Home

The course selection process for the 2026-2027 school year has begun for rising 11th and 12th grade students.  Rising 11th and 12th grade students have received information regarding the course selection process.  Please look for this information to come home and discuss possible course options with your student.  Students will complete a hard copy course request form during this time frame in addition to entering course requests online in Powerschool.

Rising 11th and 12th grade students turn in their course request forms and 4 year plans with a parent signature to their English teachers by February 26.  Online course request entries are due in Powerschool by February. 25.

All course selection information can be found on the school’s website, Mountain Brook High School Website.  You will want to refer to the Course Selection Guide available on our website to consider diploma types and graduation requirements.  Please be careful with your selections to make sure that you are choosing classes that are appropriate for your student.  It is also important that you and your student are taking a close look at his/her transcript to make sure graduation and diploma type requirements are being met.

Feel free to talk to any grade level counselor or your student’s teachers if you have questions or concerns about which courses to select or which courses your student is recommended to take.  Students are encouraged to sign up for an appointment with a counselor if they would like to discuss their course selection requests in further detail.  Counselors will be available to meet with students regarding course selection February 17-20.  Appointment sign-up sheets are available in the counseling office.

If you would like to make a change to your schedule after April 24, there are 2 days in July where schedule changes will be accepted.  Parent placements will not be accepted after April 24.  The 2 summer schedule change dates will be announced at a later time.
