Mountain Brook High School is a three-year public high school located on 25 acres of land in the city of Mountain Brook, a residential suburb of Birmingham, Alabama. The campus is one mile off Interstate 459 at the Liberty Park exit. Mountain Brook High School has a student population of 984 served by a faculty and staff of 187. The city of Mountain Brook has approximately 20,000 residents, 4000 of whom are students in the Mountain Brook City Schools.
Since its founding in 1966, Mountain Brook High School has maintained a reputation for academic excellence, being recognized for the nationally prestigious Blue Ribbon School Award during two school years, 1983-84 and 1992-93. Additional honors for MBHS include:

Carrie Busby has been in education since 1995. She holds educational and administrative leadership degrees from the University of Alabama and the University of Montevallo. Prior to joining the administrative team at Mountain Brook High School in 2018, Carrie served as an assistant principal at Hoover High School after teaching 12th grade English for several years. She and her husband have two adult children. Carrie is in her 22nd year as an educator with 10 years in administration and is committed to providing an effective, challenging, and engaging high school experience for MBHS students.

Email: Lars Porter
Lars Porter is currently in his fifth year with the Mountain Brook School system. A native of the Birmingham area, Lars graduated from Vestavia Hills High School before majoring in Mathematics at Birmingham-Southern College. During his tenure at BSC, he ran cross country and track, which later led to his appointment as the Panther's Head Cross Country Coach. Six years coaching at the Division I and Division III levels led Lars into youth ministry at Saint Luke’s Episcopal Church here in Mountain Brook. This experience, along with part-time coaching at Mountain Brook Junior High, helped Lars realize that his heart was in the schools. Fast-forwarding another six years, with time spent teaching math and coaching cross country/track at Homewood High School. Before serving as Assistant Principal at MBHS, he was a math teacher and the Technology Coordinator at MBJH.
Lars has a B.S. in Mathematics, a Masters in Public and Private Management from Birmingham-Southern College, an M.Ed. from Samford University, and an Educational Leadership Certificate from the University of West Alabama.
Lars is married to Dana Porter. They have three energetic and enthusiastic boys.

Eric Hollis graduated from Samford University in 2005 where he played baseball and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology/General Sciences. After a six year career in the Chicago White Sox organization as a player and coach, Mr. Hollis went into education where he spent nine years as a science teacher and coach at Hoover before earning his Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from UAB. He has served as an Assistant Principal for three years now at two locations: Gardendale High School (2 years) and Vestavia Hills High School (1 year).
Eric and his wife, Natalie, have four children.
